>It hasn’t been so sweet

5 Apr

>I gave up sweets of all kinds for Lent and I have never had a bigger craving for cupcakes in my life. I mean, any normal day when I tell myself that I am not going to eat sweets, I normally cave by Noon and am eating something sweet, whether it is ice cream, a cookie, frosting, whatever. But, when you give stuff up for Lent (which I give up something every year even though I am not Catholic) it takes on a whole different game. I mean, I all of a sudden have this intense conscience and know that I can’t really have anything because I said I wouldn’t for 40 days. Maybe I should make lent a 365 day process….hmmm.

So, logically since I haven’t been able to eat sweets I have had every craving known to man to bake. Normally, I would do this and let Michael eat them and have him take them to work. but, Michael gave up dessert too. So, neither one of us can eat yummy sweet creations. Mentally for the past 33 days (Lent is over next Sunday!!!) I have been making a list of all the things I am going to bake starting on Easter. I hope everyone at Michael’s work and mine as well are ready for a sweet treat overload.

I bought supplies at the grocery store yesterday (major sale!!) and I am ready for Sunday. I am going to make cupcakes, the brownie cookies, peanut butter fudge and Lord knows what else – probably all in 2 days. There goes the lbs. I lost during Lent from abstaining from my sweets fetish…bummer. baking is going to become my new hobby so I hope that those of you around me are ready for a sugar overdose 🙂

xo and much love,
kelsey
